Here at Faxi, we are very aware of how powerful communities can be, coming together to solve issues, such as congestion and pollution.
Now, as we approach the most challenging global event in a generation, those within our communities will be relying on support more than ever. Across the UK, 1.5 million people across the UK have been asked to shield themselves, and remain distanced from others.
Therefore, Faxi is offering a platform to those willing to help the ones who need a hand. Volunteer action groups globally can create private closed communities to help identify individuals who need help.
Within the communities, people who are willing and able to offer support to others can identify themselves as ‘dedicated drivers’. By doing this, they will allow people in need of some support to easily identify them and privately message them to arrange to get the help they need.
In doing this, the selected volunteers will receive a ‘trusted’ badge, which will be shown in the bottom right corner of their profile. This will make it easier for vulnerable members who have joined your community to identify and message the volunteers in their area offering assistance.
Everyone signing up can choose a screen name, providing them with anonymity when making requests.
They’ll then have the opportunity to put information in their ‘status’ about what they require. Volunteers can see this information then message the individual.
They can also see the profiles of volunteers registered in their area, and touch on their pins and send them a message.

Note: We are aware that rough locations of the dwellings of those who register are visible. The pin locations are randomised within the area of the post code so at no point will the volunteers or others using this service be able to know the exact address. This will be down to the individual to give this information if required.
Given the closed nature of the community, admins will be able to designate who is given volunteer status, and Faxi’s private messaging system can be used to arrange drop off points or passwords to be used to allow volunteers to drop off supplies, or have a conversation whilst practising social distancing.
